Although Southeastern Connecticut is not in the direct path of the hurricane, we are on the strongest side of the heavy winds. Winds will be 40-50 mph sustained and gusts to 80 mph. I am about 30 miles inland from the Connecticut coast and will not be affected by the likely storm surges of 8-11 feet like the coast of Connecticut will be.
We are expecting major power outages and fallen trees from the major storm. I have gs for the generator, the tub is full of water, loose items are strapped to the deck and the shed is full of items that could not be strapped down.
I live in a mobile home park and the local fire department was around late yesterday afternoon announcing a "voluntary" evacuation for all mobile home parks in the area.
I'm hoping it remains the same after the storm :)

I added a new forum page to this blog on a trial basis. This new forum is for anything related to fly tying. This is not the Drake forum and what goes on over there will not happen over here. Let's keep this forum civil. Please register and participate. Its free and fun. Click on the "Forum" tab in the upper left hand corner of this blog.

...the humorous side of fishing, I recommend the following book by Rich Tosches. I was working in England a number of years ago and found this book in the local bookstore and couldn't put it down. Give a read for yourself.
