Heres a cool product I found on a German fly shop web site. These are not for the dry fly guys and some folks may cringe, but these seem to be a neat product nonetheless.
Heres a description from the website:
Unique, pre-formed body nymph from a combination of plastic and tungsten.
A great product, complete with brains, a strong chest and a segmented body. Can be easily integrated with three-thread or with a thin Dubbingstrang on the hook shank. The high dead weight, the use of lead wire or beads unnecessary. This body can be colored with waterproof markers or colored lacquer. Available in 8 sizes.
Doesn't make me cringe... I'm surprised we don't see more of this sort of thing. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThose are sweet. I'd use them
ReplyDeletethat is really neat. Post up if you ever get any with your review
ReplyDeletewow, pretty soon we'll just whip finish it and that will be the only step... pretty neat little body for some quick cheater bugs...
ReplyDeleteAt what point does fly tying turn into lure building? Does it matter? Why not just use Berkley Power Nymphs?
ReplyDeletefly tying IS lure building! So whats the difference??
ReplyDeleteHave tried them, and I am happy with it. Especially for not so expierienced Fly tiers as me. Also great are the coneheads. Can fix ´m at the river to be always in the right depth and take them of when there is no more need.
ReplyDeleteJust google elastic-tungsten to see more about it.
Here in BAVARIA it became a common add on
