Tail - Black hackle fibers/moose body hair
Body - Black chenille (underbody of lead wire optional)
Thorax - Yellow chenille
Wing case - Black chenille
Hackle - Black/brown hackle

The original was designed to imitate large dark stonefly nymphs of Northern American. 

It was first tied by Lew Oatman of New York.

  3. hi i love this nymph fly , with a chartuese head , guinea hen tail , and flouresent fire orange thread on head and under tail , size 10 nymph hook , works in alberta canada , in all the lakes i fish . good luck my nephew caught 37 in one afternoon on this fly . not bad eh november 11 , 2022 keep a tight line norvern07
