Hook - Mustad 9671, 9672 or equivalent

Thread - Black

Tail - Orange hackle fibers

Body - Dark olive chenille, sizes medium or small

Ribbing - Flat gold tinsel

Beard - Orange hackle fiber 

Wing - Natural mallard flank feather, tied flat, reaching to end of tail

If you substitute a peacock hurl body and tie it on a Salmon hook ., you have one of the best Atlantic salmon flys! When no one was getting any takes on any of their flys, this fly was the only one that worked! The Salmon totally destroyed it on the Exploits River in Nfld.
