Hook - Mustad #94840,#94833 or R50X-94845 Sizes 12-24
Thread - Black
Body - Deer body hair, tied around the shank of hook, 
extending over the bend in the hook for the tail.
Tail - Extension of the body hair
Rib - Crisscrossed black thread
Hackle - Brown & Grizzly, mixed

Tying Tips: Easy to tie, using the standard techniques.

Fishing Tips: General purpose fly. Use larger sizes early in the summer and the smaller
sizes in the fall when the blue-wing olives are out.

Historical Note: Boyd Senter (1898-1982) was a professional musician having played with
Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Freddie Fisher. He played over 33 different
instruments. He retired to Mio, Michigan where he divided his time between
repairing high school band instruments and running a sporting goods shop,
where he tied and sold his own flies. He established himself as an accomplished
fly tied and fisherman. In 1959 he designed 4 flies honoring different models of
Fords: the Falcon, Fairlane, Galaxie and the Thunderbird

Hi Norm,
Thanks for all the effort you put into this site, it is much appreciated.
I am attaching a link to a fly that is very similar in time and style to the Teacher. I am guessing that there is no coincidence here and that the originators of both probably knew or knew of each other.
