I particularly enjoyed this post as I've been looking at European nymphing techniques. There are lots of options out there besides the traditional floating foam or plastic. The Europeans are trying some interesting things in this area. Unfortunately, information and materials for the European options are somewhat lacking over here.
I've only used the twist on footballs and the thingamabobers vefore goign to an inline indicator (coiled and straight) for my Euro Nymphing. Way to many choices for me but when a floating indicator is used, it's still the thingamabobers. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I've always used home-made poly yarn indicators up until today...A fellow fisherman gave me a thingamabobber and I was amazed at how sensitive it was. It upped my strike indications 10 fold.
I wonder how many fish I was missing before. Best not to think about it. lol
I love that you include the good old white and red Bobber. So many fond memories of those things.
