How I prepare a marabou feather for woolly bugger tails
I look for a marabou feather with fine slender flues
I strip out the lower flues from the stem
I then snip out the flues from the tip to eliminate the tip stem
I then gather all of the flues into the shape shown above
Measure the marabou to about shank length
Tie in the marabou and bury the flues under the tying thread
When I weight the hook with wraps of lead-free wire the tie in procedure is exactly the same
