Body and Thorax - Light brown floss body; dark brown floss thorax
Legs - Guinea hen fibers
Antennae - Very fine peacock herl sword fibers

Substitute tying thread tapered to shape; thorax colored with brown marker

Substitute a stronger more durable material for the antennae

Rusty Rat



Rusty Rat

Hook - Single salmon
Thread - Red/orange
Tag - Oval gold tinsel
Tail - A few peacock sword herl
Body - Rear half, Orange-Yellow Floss (UNI-Floss rust orange), veiled above by one strand of same floss (You can either tie this part in before the herl or after, as I have done) extending to the middle of the tail, Front half, Peacock herl
Rib - Oval gold tinsel.
Wing - Grey Fox guard hairs
Collar - Soft grizzly hackle
Cheeks - Jungle Cock (optional)
