Atlantic Salmon

Keith Fulsher

Hook - Single Salmon

Thread - Black

Tip - Oval silver tinsel

Tail - Golden pheasant tippet barbs

Ribbing - Oval silver tinsel

Body - Dubbed with brown lamb's wool

Wing - Dyed black squirrel tail tied low over the body

Keith Fulsher of Eastchester, New York, originated this pattern in 1963.

Hook – Gamakatsu T10-6H
Thread – Black
Tag – Flat gold tinsel
Ribbing – Oval gold tinsel
Body – Rear half – fluorescent red or orange floss, Front half – peacock herl
Throat – Dyed black hackle fibers
Wing – Dyed black squirrel tail

Stordal’s Killer



Stordal’s Killer

Hook - Partridge CS 42 size 4-6-8
Thread - Black
Tag - Fine silver wire or oval silver tinsel *
Tail - A few fibers of mallard or teal
Butt - Red fluorescent wool tied much longer than normal
Rib - Oval silver tinsel 
Body - Peacock herl
Beard - A nice bunch of rabbit fur, dyed fluorescent blue or marabou **
Wing - Dyed blue squirrel tail (bottom)
            Fitch tail or dyed black squirrel tail (middle) ***
            Mallard or teal fibers (top)

* I used oval silver tinsel
** I used a bunch of marabou
