Salmon Fly

Hooks - TMC7999 or DA12441 or equivalent

Thread - Black

Tip - Oval gold tinsel and fluorescent orange floss

Tail - Blue dun hackle barbs

Butt - Black ostrich herl

Ribbing - Oval gold tinsel

Body - Brown floss

Hackle - Guinea fowl barbs tied in at the throat. The guinea fowl barbs are usually kept sparse (only six barbs) and separated with three barbs pulled to each side

Wing - Red and orange bucktail mixed and tied low over the body, with an over wing of red pine squirrel tail
